What does the day look like?
Most roles follow a standard office week: Uzbek bank ads list 09:00–18:00, Monday–Friday. Some global firms mention shift or extended-hour coverage for offshore KYC teams — this is deadline pressure, not medical on-call duty.
Most of your day is document review, screening and database updates: client onboarding and periodic review, ID/address/ownership/source-of-wealth checks, sanctions, PEP and adverse-media screening, FATCA/CRS status, risk summaries for managers. You work in Microsoft Excel/Word plus World-Check / World-Check One, NICE Actimize, Fircosoft, Dow Jones feeds and employer KYC platforms. Chasing missing documents from sales or client teams takes a large secondary block of time. At entry level most files are routine CDD — the "catching criminals" image is misleading here.
