What does the day look like?
Between 80% and 85% of your working day is spent wrangling data in Microsoft Excel, cleaning messy transactional exports from ERP systems like SAP S/4HANA, Oracle NetSuite, or 1C:Enterprise, fixing spreadsheet formulas, reconciling mismatching accounts, and updating Power BI or Tableau reports. Only 15% to 20% involves high-level financial strategy, presenting slide decks to executives, or evaluating investments.
Normal operations follow a standard 40-hour office week. However, workload spikes to 50 to 60+ hours per week during month-end closes, quarterly financial reviews, and annual budget planning cycles. There is no shift work or night work, though supporting international teams remotely requires early morning or late evening schedule overlap.
