What does the day look like?
Your day is built around planning, running and reviewing short sessions: you set out cones, bibs and goals, check pitch safety, take attendance, give players individual feedback, manage behaviour, talk with parents and log progress. Your tools are cones, bibs and goals on the pitch, Veo cameras for match capture, Hudl for video review, scheduling and messaging apps for team organisation, and Microsoft Excel or the club database for attendance and assessment records.
Match day and leading drills are the part teenagers picture, and they take a small share of paid time. The large share is supervision, safeguarding, set-up and clear-up, messages to parents and paperwork. Hours follow school hours: late afternoons, evenings and weekends, with travel to away fixtures. In the United Kingdom adverts typically describe part-time and sessional work of 20 to 37 hours per week for community and youth roles, with squads such as U-15 training after school.
