What does the day look like?
Full-time internships usually run 35–40 hours a week; part-time roles of 10–20 hours exist. There is no shift work, on-call duty, or night work — standard office hours.
Roughly 40–55% of the day is production and file prep: layouts and mockups, resizing documents, exporting PDF, PNG, and SVG files, applying brand guidelines. About 20–30% is concept and support under a senior designer: building presentation decks, photo research, archiving assets. The remaining 15–25% is meetings, critiques, revisions, and light admin such as scheduling and file management.
Main tools are Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; Figma; sometimes After Effects; Keynote or PowerPoint; and Canva in some junior or social-media contexts. You are not only checking pixels — you also produce layouts, decks, and exports.
