What does the day look like?
Your work lives inside Rhino 3D with MatrixGold / 3Design / Matrix. You turn a sketch or 2D brief into a NURBS 3D model, build stone seats (collets, prongs, bezels, channels, pave micro-prongs) to the exact millimetre cut, add 1.5% to 2.5% scale for lost-wax casting in gold, silver or platinum, hold wall thickness at 0.8 mm to 1.2 mm, do Boolean work, shelling and sprue placement, and export a watertight STL with 0 naked edges for Materialise Magics / Chitubox / PreForm. Organic shapes go through Pixologic ZBrush, client views through KeyShot / V-Ray / Cycles. Printing runs on Asiga or Formlabs Form 4 DLP/SLA resin printers, washing in ultrasonic tanks, curing under UV, checking with calipers reading to 0.01 mm.
The split is 20% to 30% artistic styling, 50% to 60% technical engineering, 10% to 20% file admin, renders and revision notes with bench jewelers and casters. Studio time is 37 to 40 hours / week, with overtime before Vicenzaoro in January/September, JCK Las Vegas in June and the Q4 retail peak.
