What does the day look like?
You work Monday to Friday in an office — not shift work, though launches and evening events happen sometimes. Roughly 25–35% of the day is the “glamorous” part: brand story, visuals, taglines, annual brand plans, campaigns, and briefing creative, media, activation, and PR agencies. The other 50–60% is spreadsheets and PowerPoint, budget and forecast meetings, Nielsen-style retail data, and tools like Tableau, Google Analytics/Looker, Salesforce/Eloqua, and Asana/JIRA — numbers, ROI, and post-campaign analysis. Field or market visits take about 5–15%. In the US, 84% of marketing managers work more than 40 hours a week.
