What does the day look like?
You work 40 to 45 hours per week, primarily during standard business hours from 08:30 to 18:00, Monday through Friday. Evening presence up to 21:00 and Saturday coverage are required for high-profile client site inspections, setup walk-throughs, or gala banquets. Night shifts do not occur.
Only 15% to 20% of your day matches the glamorous expectation: touring ballrooms with VIP organizers, conducting site inspections, and attending client menu tastings. The remaining 80% to 85% is operational desk work. You spend 25% of your time drafting Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and corporate contracts, 20% managing room blocks and cut-off dates in Amadeus Delphi.fdc or Oracle OPERA Cloud S&C, 20% answering corporate RFPs via Cvent, 15% in logistics meetings with the executive chef and audiovisual staff, and 5% logging pipelines in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Excel.
