What does the day look like?
The role operates across 24-hour, 365-day shift rotations: morning (07:00 to 15:30), evening (15:00 to 23:30), and night (23:00 to 07:30) shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and mandatory overtime during system outages or full occupancy. Only 20% to 25% of the day is the public-facing side—greeting VIP arrivals and resolving escalated disputes. The remaining 75% to 80% is operational administration, Property Management System (PMS) data hygiene, room inventory balancing, billing audits, queue management, agent coaching, and shift handovers.
Daily duties include leading shift briefings, distributing VIP arrival lists, coordinating early check-ins, late check-outs, and out-of-order room status with the Executive Housekeeper, resolving service recovery incidents within authorized budgets, handling disorderly patrons, and auditing cash drawers and merchant card transactions. Supervisors use PMS platforms like Oracle Hospitality OPERA Cloud / OPERA 5, Amadeus Hospitality (HotELiON / Delphi), Infor HMS, and Protel; keycard encoders like ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions (VingCard) and dormakaba; guest messaging tools including Kipsu, ALICE, HotSOS, and Quore; and payment systems like Shift4, FreedomPay, and Ingenico POS terminals.
