What does the day look like?
Your day unfolds within a structured 12 to 18-month rotational program across Rooms Division (Front Office, Housekeeping), Food and Beverage (F&B), and support functions like finance and sales. Work begins with morning briefings reviewing VIP itineraries, occupancy rates, and RevPAR targets. Throughout the shift, you operate PMS platforms like Oracle Hospitality Opera Cloud or Amadeus, inspect suites against 50 to 100-point brand standards checklists, manage dining pacing using Oracle MICROS Simphony or Infrasys Cloud POS, and track guest issues via Alice, HotSOS, or Medallia.
The glamorous aspect—tailored suits and shadowing executives—is only 10% of the role. The reality is 65% physical operational floor labor: standing 8 to 10 hours per shift, moving luggage during group arrivals, assisting housekeeping, bussing tables, and resolving guest complaints. Another 25% is spent on administrative reporting, inventory counts, and scheduling via Kronos or Deputy. Shift work is mandatory, rotating through morning (06:30 to 15:30), evening (14:30 to 23:30), and night audit shifts (23:00 to 07:30), with 50 to 60-hour peak operational weeks during conferences and holidays.
