What does the day look like?
You rotate through 2 to 3 placements over 12 to 36 months: boutique retail, central merchandising and buying, and marketing or supply chain. On the retail rotation you open and close the boutique, run clienteling work such as VIP appointments and after-sales tracking, do daily stock reconciliation, track daily sales against KPIs, and coach assistants on the seasonal collection story.
On the merchandising rotation you build open-to-buy plans, calculate sell-through by SKU, margin targets and stock turn, allocate the seasonal collection across flagships, and join showroom buying sessions to lock the assortment grid. On marketing and supply chain you prepare competitor decks, track acquisition cost and footfall, move stock between central European hubs and stores, and forecast replenishment. Tools are SAP S/4HANA, Cegid Retail, Cegid Y2, Salesforce Luxury Clienteling / Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI and TXT Retail. Corporate weeks are 35 to 40 hours, up to 50 hours around Fashion Weeks and buying campaigns; retail means shifts between 09:30 and 20:00 including Saturdays, holidays and evenings. Under 10% of the time is glamorous, 90% is spreadsheets, stock counts, logistics and reporting.
