What does the day look like?
Nominal office hours are 09:30 to 18:30, Monday through Friday. However, night work is mandatory: 2 to 4 nights per week are spent at live venues, showcases, and late-night recording studio sessions running past 01:00. Weekends often involve attending music festivals and handling urgent file deliveries ahead of global release deadlines at Friday 00:00 EST.
The glamorous part a teenager imagines — listening to music, scouting talent at shows, and hanging out with artists in studios — takes up only 15% of the day. The remaining 85% is administrative routine: chasing unsigned split sheets, filing travel receipts in Concur, tracking production budgets, checking ISRC codes, working with SAP and Coupa, and managing audio files using DISCO.ac, Box, and Pro Tools.
