What does the day look like?
Between 85% and 90% of your working day consists of administrative documentation, psychometric scoring, travel logistics, staff meetings with physiotherapists and head coaches, and routine one-on-one consultations. You assess competitive anxiety, track physiological markers using tools like Thought Technology BioGraph Infiniti, Mind Media BioTrace+, and Polar Team Pro, and run cognitive tests using the Vienna Test System, NeuroTracker, TOPS, and CSAI-2.
The glamorous image of standing pitch-side or delivering inspirational locker-room speeches accounts for only 10% to 15% of the role. During competitive seasons, workloads run between 40 and 55 hours per week. Schedules are irregular, requiring regular evening training attendance, weekend match travel, and on-call availability throughout multi-day tournaments.
