What does the day look like?
You work 37.5 to 40 hours per week. Day shifts rotate 08:00 to 16:00 or 12:00 to 20:00. Residential homes add sleep-in night shifts or on-call cover 1 to 2 times weekly.
The day splits into 30% client visits, 40% paperwork and case records, 20% coordination, 10% crisis support. You visit homes, accompany clients to clinics, housing offices and benefit departments, write daily logs and incident reports, and phone food banks, schools and charities. The tools are Liquidlogic, Mosaic by Access Group, SystmOne, the Single Registry for Social Protection, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Excel and an encrypted phone or tablet for field logging. Over 50% of the week is forms, compliance checks, phone queues and driving between addresses in bad weather.
