What does the day look like?
About 30–40% of your day is spoken historical, architectural, and cultural commentary plus guest engagement. The other 60–70% is headcounts, ticket vouchers, transit delays, managing mic or VOX/Whisper audio systems, finding lost group members, weather contingencies, bathroom stops, local compliance, and invoicing.
Expect 15,000 to 25,000 steps on hard pavement or cobblestone, with constant vocal projection over traffic noise. You coordinate groups booked through GetYourGuide, Viator, or GuruWalk via WhatsApp or Telegram, and check tickets with QR scanners. In peak summer, weekends, and holidays, days can run 10–12 hours; off-season income drops sharply.
