What does the day look like?
Your work is clearing a live queue. You log into Meta Single Review Tool (SRT), Zendesk, Jira Service Management, Salesforce Service Cloud, or a client back-office tool. An automated dispatcher feeds you posts, comments, images, video clips, live stream segments, ads, profile bios, and user reports. You check each one against a 50 to 150 page SOP covering hate speech, harassment, self-harm and suicide, violent extremism, graphic violence, CSAM, copyright infringement, adult nudity, and regulated goods. You decide in 20 to 60 seconds: Approve, Delete/Remove, Warning Strike, route to Tier 2, or flag to Law Enforcement.
Platforms run 24 hours per day across 365 days per year. Shifts are 8 hours on rotating morning, evening, and night rotas, with mandatory weekend and holiday work. You review 500 to 1,200 items per 8-hour shift while software tracks AHT, active time, idle time, and breaks to the second. Auditors sample 10 to 30 decisions per week and you must hold 95% accuracy. There are 15 to 30 minutes of daily wellness counseling or EAP check-ins because the queue contains graphic violence, CSAM, gore, suicide ideation, and hate speech. About 10% of the day feels like watching viral videos, 90% is fast repetitive production work.
