What does the day look like?
Your workweek follows a standard office schedule of 40 to 45 hours, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00. There are no night shifts or physical on-call duties, though managing crises such as sudden executive departures or whistleblowing investigations may require evening responsiveness.
About 30% of your time is spent on workforce planning, org restructuring, and headcount budget forecasting with department leads, and 25% on talent development and leadership coaching. Around 20% involves handling employee grievances, performance improvement plans, and terminations. The remaining time goes to HR analytics (15%) and operational workflow escalations (10%). Daily tools include HRIS and analytics platforms like Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR, Oracle Cloud HCM, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Lattice, Culture Amp, 15Five, Peakon, Greenhouse, and Lever. The glamorous side—interviewing candidates and team events—is only 15% of the role; 85% is budget modeling, labour law compliance audits, and managing difficult terminations.
