What does the day look like?
The role follows a standard 40-hour workweek (09:00 to 18:00). There are no night shifts or on-call duties, though working with global teams often involves early-morning or late-evening calls. Many assume training managers spend the entire day teaching in a classroom, but live facilitation accounts for only 10% of the actual working time.
Budgeting, procurement, and managing external vendors take up 25% of your time. Another 25% is spent meeting department heads to analyze skill deficits against corporate goals. Administering Learning Management Systems like Cornerstone OnDemand, Docebo, or Workday Learning and reporting metrics takes up 20%. The remaining 20% goes toward designing multi-month onboarding tracks and leadership programs.
