What does the day look like?
Standing in front of an audience or hosting webinars is only 20% of your working time. Most of your day (45%) is dedicated to instructional design and content creation: writing training scripts, building workbooks, and assembling interactive modules in tools like Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise, or Adobe Captivate.
Another 25% goes to administration and data tracking inside Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas, Moodle, Cornerstone OnDemand, and Workday Learning, where you assign mandatory courses and track completion rates. The remaining 10% is spent meeting department leads for Training Needs Analysis (TNA). Working hours are standard office hours from 09:00 to 18:00, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week), with shift or night work being very rare.
