What does the day look like?
An International HR professional manages human capital across different time zones, legal frameworks, and digital platforms. Around 25% of the day goes to drafting cross-border contracts and ensuring legal compliance, and another 25% involves maintaining employee data across HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR, Deel, Remote.com, and HiBob. About 20% is spent coordinating visas, relocations, and international health insurance through providers like Cigna Global, Allianz Care, or Bupa Global, while 20% involves compensation reviews using Mercer or Korn Ferry benchmarks and managing employee relations. Only 10% is dedicated to recruiting talent via LinkedIn Recruiter and running structured interviews.
Standard hours are 40 to 45 hours per week in an office or hybrid setup. There are no formal night shifts or on-call duties, but managing distributed teams across time zones often requires early morning (07:00) or late evening (21:00) coordination calls.
