What does the day look like?
You work on sustainability inside a company like Kering or H and M Group. Your day is sustainability reporting, regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, measuring greenhouse gas emissions, guidance on sustainable materials and circularity, and embedding sustainability into shows and events. You put the climate strategy into brands and functions, audit suppliers against standards, write corrective action plans, train staff, and do external reporting under GHGP, SBTi, ESRS, HREDD, and double materiality assessment.
The named tools are MS Office Suite and CoPilot, SLCP, Higg FSLM and FEM, BSCI, ZDHC wastewater standards, ACCORD and RSC, life cycle assessment software, and ESRS disclosure templates. Choosing green fabrics is about 20% of the day. About 80% is data collection, supplier follow up, audit files, and reporting tables. The work is office based, with no shift or night work. You travel to factories, audit sites, and events such as Pitti Uomo and Milan Fashion Week.
