What does the day look like?
You film training and matches, code events in Hudl Sportscode, pull league video and event data from Wyscout and Instat, cross-check it against StatsBomb data, and build a pre-match pack on the opposition plus a post-match debrief for the coaching staff. Adverts name the tools directly: Hudl, Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, Hudl Insight, Wyscout, Instat, StatsBomb, Catapult and STATSports GPS trackers and WIMU monitors, with Python or R for data-heavy posts and SQL for database roles.
Watching football is a small share of the day. Most of it is tagging clips, cleaning data, syncing angles, and editing sequences a coach can absorb in minutes. Set-piece packs, individual development clips for loan players, and live matchday coding from the gantry repeat every week. Hours follow the fixture list: evenings, weekends, travel to away games, and late nights before a matchday review. Deadline pressure peaks around team selection meetings, not around kickoff.
