What does the day look like?
Roughly 15% of your day is the visible side of luxury hospitality: welcoming VIPs and heads of state, tasting banquet menus, and attending gala functions. The remaining 85% is corporate operational administration. You analyze daily financial metrics such as RevPAR, ADR, GOP, labor costs, and CapEx schedules, inspect property systems in Oracle Opera Cloud or Infor HMS, and set dynamic pricing strategies using IDeaS G3 RMS or Duetto GameChanger. You also conduct daily walkthroughs of back-of-house areas like kitchens, laundries, and engineering plants, track procurement in SAP S/4HANA or BirchStreet Systems, and monitor guest reviews via TrustYou and Medallia.
A standard workweek runs 55 to 70 hours. The role carries unscheduled 24/7 on-call responsibility: you hold ultimate operational and legal accountability if a fire, security incident, or guest emergency occurs at 03:00. Weekend presence is mandatory during peak banquet and holiday periods.
