What does the day look like?
You own a book of 150 to 180 customer relationships. You start by checking health scores and choosing which accounts need attention. Then you run 4 to 5 video meetings a day: progress reviews, tactical and strategic recommendations, feature updates. Between calls you handle invoice and how-to questions, send follow-up notes and resources, align with onboarding, sales, product and contract teams, and update renewal forecasts. You monitor login and usage frequency, reach out to low-activity accounts, build success plans, explain return on investment, spot expansion whitespace, and push customer feature requests internally.
Face-to-customer meetings are 40% to 50% of the day. The rest is data review, internal coordination, documentation and forecasting. Tools are HubSpot Service Hub customer success workspace, Gainsight with Cockpit, Timeline and Journey Orchestrator, Zendesk, Salesforce CRM, video conferencing and product-usage analytics dashboards. Hours follow the customer base business hours, with no rostered night work. On-call is rare, but covering United States accounts from Europe or Asia means late-evening calls, and quarter-end renewal pushes mean overtime.
